MILVERTON, ON - August 26, 2024 - Prospect Kyle Steckly will be back behind the wheel of a NASCAR Canada Series ride when the national tour rolls into Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in Bowmanville on September 1st.
“I couldn’t be more pumped to be back racing with the NASCAR Canada Series,” says Steckly. “Any time you get to race in the NASCAR Canada Series, especially at a road course, it’s a huge deal. And, to be in an MBS Motorsports ride, it makes it even more exciting.”
“I’ve worked real close with MBS Motorsports over the past few years so - to get the opportunity to actually drive one of their cars - I’m really excited!
Steckly will hit the track with a special scheme adorning his No. 22 that pays homage to his father Scott’s ride from his time spent leading 22Racing to NASCAR Canada Series championships in 2008, 2011, 2013 and 2015.
“To be able to honour what has done with one of his schemes, is really important to me and my family”, says Steckly.
“He (Scott) came 1 corner short of winning in this scheme at CTMP in 2015, so we are going to get him that win this year.”
For MBS Motorsports team leaders Jeff Murphy & Domenic Scrivo it’s clear that the chance to have Kyle come aboard is as mutually exciting for their outfit as it is for the rising young driver.
“For MBS [Motorsports], Canadian Tire Motorsports Park is our home,” explained Murphy. “It’s where fellow MBS Motorsports leader Domenic Scrivo & I have raced for years. It’s always exciting to unload there and, to have the chance to run 3 cars at the biggest race of the year there, is going to be awesome”
“Kyle joining us for this race is a big deal,” continued Scrivo. “We wanted to come together to run a 3-car effort and to show our appreciation to his Father & Kyle for the help that everyone at 22Racing has done for us over the years.”
Kyle Steckly’s NASCAR Canada Series return will be powered by Sierra Excavating Enterprises Inc.
